Job Purpose
Support the implementation and management of the carbon management system to track and reduce emissions across AlUla, in alignment with the Net Zero Strategy and RCU goals. The role also involves supporting and monitoring activities, updating carbon inventories, carbon accounting, and collaborating with the SPD sub-units to prepare report on emissions and reduction efforts.
Functional Responsibilities
- Support the development and update of the Net Zero strategy for AlUla in alignment with RCU existing relevant plans and strategies.
- Support the implementation of the carbon management system, including developing the necessary tools and processes to collect, track, and report carbon emissions data.
- Support the management of the carbon management system to ensure that carbon emissions are accurately tracked in alignment with established targets and KPIs, within the designated reporting periods, by coordinating with relevant RCU departments.
- Track and maintain data about carbon emissions by sector, including measuring baseline levels, actual emissions, and decarbonization scenarios across different sectors.
- Update sectoral carbon inventories periodically to reflect progress and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the initiation of climate related projects and emissions reduction programs, in alignment with RCU's strategy.
- Identify RCU's developments or projects related to carbon trading and support the relevant departments in understanding the associated aspects and trading mechanisms.
- Conduct ongoing alignment activities between the Net Zero Strategy and RCU's strategy/ strategies to maintain coherence and avoid misalignment.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability Management or a related field.
