Decision Support & Visualization Engineer

Postion Summary :

The DSV Specialist works as part of the Engineering Delivery department and is responsible for project design, development, and deployment of Business Intelligence and workflow requirements for the manufacturing organizations of our clients. Our key customers are mainly from the Oil and Gas / Petrochemicals Industry.

A solid expertise is required in data modeling, ETL / ELT processes, Data Visualization, Key Metrics, and required IT infrastructure to produce BI project requirements for highly demanding clients. This role typically supports projects or tasks being led by consultants and solution architects and also involves providing ongoing oversight and guidance to more junior level engineers.

Additionally, as a senior member of the DSV team, the Specialist is expected to work with cross-functional delivery teams as a SME.

Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Builds understanding of the project data analytics and visualization, and needs.
2. Lead designs, build, test, and deployment of the solutions to our clients.
3. Perform data availability assessment and implement robust processes to ensure the timely identification, collection, and validation of relevant data sets required.
4. To work with different clients stakeholders to understand the business processes and produce the Key metrics requirements.
5. Supports our sales team by participating in the preparation of proposals, estimates, etc.
6. Provide mentorship to engineers and associate engineers in the team.
7. To evaluate and recommend the best breed of technologies in the market.

Qualifications & Requirements

Academic: BSc in or higher in a related field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or business administration.

Experience:7 Years+ relevant and proven experience handling similar responsibilities.

Minimum Technical Requirements:

1. Strong knowledge in Data Management Technologies as well as BI tooling (ideally Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server Analysis Services).
2. Experience in developing solutions for Manufacturing Execution Systems, Visualization & Analytics development for industrial use cases preferably Downstream Refining and NGL.
3. Business Intelligence development experience using Power BI, SSRS, SQL Server
4. Web Application Development experience using .NET, Blazor, Entity Framework, etc.
5. Highly proficient in manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets (near real-time or event-driven data would be an advantage).
6. Strong knowledge of Oil/GAS/Petrochemical Domain.
7. Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines.
8. Experience of the full lifecycle of developing and implementing BI/analytics solutions at scale.
9. Some experience with data orchestration tools like Biztalk.
10. Experience working with a variety of data sources, database architectures, query authoring (SQL), as well as common data modelling, analytics and visualization toolsets.
11. Expert knowledge of working with common Data Warehousing/Data Lake technologies as well as BI tooling (ideally Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server Analysis Services).
