Your Role And Responsibilities

The Software Expert Labs Delivery Consultant is responsible for delivering high-value, expert-level software services to IBM clients. The role focuses on designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting IBM software solutions while ensuring customer success, technical excellence, and contractual compliance.

  • Customer Engagement & Delivery
  • Deliver expert consulting services aligned with IBM Expert Labs methodology.
  • Understand customer business objectives and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead or contribute to complex software implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor during the engagement lifecycle.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Provide deep technical expertise across IBM software platforms (e.g., Automation, Data, Integration, Security).
  • Perform architecture design, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and lead root cause analysis.
  • Ensure solutions follow IBM best practices and reference architectures.
  • Project Execution
  • Deliver work packages according to Statement of Work (SoW), scope, and timelines.
  • Contribute to project planning, estimates, and technical risk management.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Quality & Governance
  • Ensure deliverables meet IBM quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge transfer, and handover artifacts.
  • Support audits, compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Collaboration & Enablement
  • Mentor junior consultants and support skill development within the team.
  • Collaborate with IBM product teams, support, and sales when needed.
  • Share knowledge and reusable assets across Expert Labs engagements.
  • Customer Success & Value Realization
  • Drive customer adoption and value realization of IBM software.
  • Proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Support long-term customer relationships and repeat engagements.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Technical Skills

  • Experience with IBM software solutions (one or more domains).
  • Good understanding of enterprise architectures, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, networking, security, and automation concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered environments.

Professional Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in customer environments.
  • Structured problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Experience working under contractual and delivery constraints.
