The Planner supports the Merchandise Planning function through effective stock management, data-led decision support, and insight-driven recommendations. The role ensures that inventory levels, assortments, and replenishment strategies align with demand across markets, ultimately driving sales, profitability, and stock efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Replenishment & Order Execution
- Compile monthly reorder quantities for continuity lines to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Ensure orders are raised accurately and on time, aligned with agreed inbound delivery schedules.
- Provide guidance to buyers on appropriate buy quantities for new product launches.
Assortment & Territory Planning
- Ensure assortments are structured and matched accurately to store grading.
- Manage ranging across stores and territories to maintain balanced stock at country level aligned to demand.
- Ensure stock availability in stores aligns with approved range plans and planograms.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Track and report on new line performance versus agreed sell-through targets.
- Provide weekly planning commentary and performance insight on key measurable metrics.
- Highlight risk and opportunity through actionable analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Identify areas of distress or overperformance and make recommendations to maximise sales and minimise stock risk.
OTB & Stock Control
- Monitor OTB (Open-to-Buy) to ensure spends remain within agreed monthly budgets.
- Track ageing stock and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive actions aligning with departmental sell-through and ageing targets.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Must have 3-4 years of relevant experience in retail. Home & Furniture Industry preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Commercially astute with the ability to turn data into clear direction and business impact.
