Job Summary :
The Group Parts Demand Planning Specialist plays a critical role in driving accurate forecasting, inventory governance, and working capital optimization across all business units. This role supports the execution of the Group's Strategic Inventory Governance (SIG) framework by improving demand visibility, enforcing disciplined ordering practices, and ensuring alignment across systems, stakeholders, and operational plans.
The position requires strong analytical thinking, data-driven decision-making, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance forecast accuracy, inventory health, and overall supply chain efficiency
Job Description :
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Coordinate and manage the monthly demand planning cycle across all Group Business Units (BUs)
- Consolidate, validate, and analyze demand forecasts to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Incorporate key inputs such as customer demand, fleet data, campaigns, and major events into forecasting models
- Identify forecast gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve forecast reliability
Ordering & Inventory Control
- Drive disciplined ordering practices using CAT tools and internal planning systems
- Monitor adherence to planning parameters and ordering policies
- Analyze planned vs. emergency orders and implement corrective actions to reduce unplanned demand
- Support optimization of order quantities and timing to improve inventory efficiency
Inventory Governance & Compliance
- Review and approve add-to-stock, rebuild, and non-stock requests in line with governance policies
- Ensure compliance with Group inventory, returns, and stock management policies across all business units
- Promote adherence to Strategic Inventory Governance (SIG) standards and best practices
Backorder & Supply Optimization
- Monitor backorder levels and drive conversion into structured planned orders
- Identify root causes of backorders and propose sustainable solutions
- Support improvements in parts availability and service levels
Working Capital & Inventory Health
- Monitor and analyze key working capital components including:
- Inventory allocations
- Work in Progress (WIP)
- Protected parts
- Stock aging and obsolescence
- Identify risks and opportunities to optimize inventory investment and reduce excess stock
Surplus & Returns Management
- Analyze surplus inventory, returns, inter-territorial transfers, and annual write-offs
- Recommend actions to minimize financial impact and improve inventory turnover
- Support initiatives to reduce obsolescence and improve stock utilization
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards and analytical reports (Excel / Power BI)
- Track key KPIs related to forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and working capital
- Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making at Group level
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with supply chain, operations, finance, and commercial teams
- Facilitate alignment across business units on planning assumptions and execution priorities
- Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 1- 2 years of experience in:
- Parts planning
- Supply chain management
- Demand planning
- Operations or logistics
- Experience in inventory control or forecasting environments is highly preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory)
- Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with ERP systems and planning tools (e.g., CAT systems) is preferred
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
