Job Description

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the restaurant's Italian menu standards.
  • Assist the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section (e.g., pasta, grill, or antipasti).
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Maintain portion control, minimize wastage, and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
  • Assist in the development and creation of new Italian menu items and specials.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment.
  • Follow standard recipes and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure service efficiency.
  • Attend and participate in daily briefings, training sessions, and tastings.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within an Italian restaurant or fine dining establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, sauces, pastas, and regional specialties.
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Team-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
