JOB PURPOSE:
The Deputy Construction Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and
execution of all on-site construction activities for the PV power plant, ensuring timely, cost effective, and high-quality delivery in compliance with safety and environmental standards. This
role involves managing multidisciplinary construction works, overseeing subcontractors, and
acting as the focal point between engineering, procurement, and site execution teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
. Lead the site execution of all project works, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical,
and auxiliary systems for PV array and substation works.
. Develop, monitor, and manage the site construction schedule in coordination with the
Planning Manager, ensuring alignment with ICOD/PCOD milestones.
. Coordinate day-to-day construction operations, managing interfaces between different
trades and disciplines.
. Ensure works are executed as per design, project specifications, quality standards, and
contract requirements.
. Monitor construction productivity and performance metrics; initiate corrective actions as
needed.
. Supervise and monitor subcontractor performance, resource allocation, and progress
reporting.
. Ensure HSE procedures are fully implemented; conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and site
inspections.
. Liaise with QAQC team to enforce quality compliance and testing of installed works.
. Facilitate timely handover to commissioning team by ensuring readiness and documentation.
. Manage site logistics including laydown areas, access roads, temporary facilities, and utilities.
. Participate in progress meetings, prepare reports, and update management on site status,
risks, and mitigation plans.
. Manage punch list closure and handover documentation.
. Implement emergency procedures
. Monitor regulatory compliance of the works
. Provide direction and guidance to the EPC on construction and support on engineering,
procurement, and commissioning activities as well as operational strategies that ensure fitness
for purposeful solutions to ensure the attainment of the Project's objectives;
. Request, check, authorize and monitor subcontractor methodologies included in the work
method statements
. Drive and support the implementation of the approved schedule
. Check, analyze the constructability review
. Provide support in quality audits
People Management and Supervision:
. Directly supervise site construction leads, discipline supervisors, and general foremen.
. Ensure proper workforce planning, daily task allocation, and progress monitoring.
. Foster a safety-first, collaborative, and high-performance culture on-site.
. Promote accountability and continuous improvement across all construction activities.
Minimum Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
. Minimum 4-6 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy
construction projects, with at least 2 years in a construction leadership role.
. Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary construction teams in remote or complex
environments.
. Strong working knowledge of construction methodologies, contract implementation, and
international standards.
. Proficient in project planning tools (Primavera P6/MS Project) and site reporting systems.
. Solid understanding of construction safety and quality assurance practices.
. Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Minimum Skills
. Proficiency in Office Software and tools related to project management.
. Experience in multicultural environment and complex organizations.
. Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
