Charter Schools.

The Charter Schools is a third education model in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and it is the outcome of a unique partnership between the government and the private sectors.

Position Overview:

The core purpose of this role is to support the Director of Schools in providing professional, highly effective leadership and guidance to the Principals and their teams that will achieve high quality education in all Taaleem Charter Schools. The postholder will promote excellence in school leadership and academic operations and contribute to the growth and success of Charter Schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote ADEK and Taaleem's mission and vision for Charter Schools.
  • Promote an inspiring vision dedicated to high standards.
  • In consultation with the Director, support Principals in being able to prioritize and plan school improvement.
  • Support the achievement of high standards of learning and the ethos of collective responsibility and mutual support.
  • Coach, mentor, guide, inspire and empower senior and middle leaders to fulfill their job roles
  • Support schools in preparing for external evaluation and with the implementation of any subsequent recommendations.
  • Work effectively with all stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees, to ensure informed and responsive decision making, which helps to direct change.
  • Support the schools in ensuring that the levels of students attainment and the quality of teaching successfully align with the schools promise to parents.
  • Provide regular feedback and motivation to others to successfully achieve their targets.
  • Encourage others to contribute, creating a spirit of teamwork and opportunities of cooperation and collaboration between departments.
  • Contribute time and expertise to the professional development of teachers and leaders and maintain a strong, current knowledge o the latest pedagogical developments.
  • Participate and lead professional development workshops in the UAE, including events run by ADEK.

What do we look for

Education: Master's degree and/or recognized Leadership qualification, Teaching certification

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years school senior leadership
  • Demonstrate success in improving education standards in schools
  • Experience with US Curriculum (desirable)
  • Previous experience of working in the UAE or the gulf region (desirable)
  • Experience of the UAE Inspection Framework
