Job Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee the day to day operations of the Legal Department and provide advice and counsel on a broad range of legal and strategic issues critical to Company's strategic goals.

Key Result Areas:

Work under General Counsel and as team leader as a primary source of legal information and ensure provision of consistency advice as requested.

Manage the day-to-day activity of the Legal Department.

Draft, review and assist in negotiating contracts to serve the best interests of the Company and ensure enforceability of contracts.

Guide the legal registration process for new institutions associated with Company and efficiently incorporate new centers/subsidiaries.

Advise on Company's compliance with Qatari Law and any other applicable law to mitigate any risk of legal action against the Company.

Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents for reference and citation in the course of executing legal functions.

Represent Legal Department in meetings with the leadership to provide legal assistance as required.

Liaise and advise centers on legal issues to ensure compliance with Company's legal framework, signed contracts and agreements.

Establish and maintain legal standards, policies, and processes across Company and ensure proper implementation, follow up, and resolution of all legal matters as per established standards

Perform assessments relating to legal risks that may face the Company's and proactively develop legal risk mitigation plans in consultation with the Company's risk services function

Liaise and coordinate with Company's external legal counsels to resolve legal issues and assure the rights and interests of the Company.

Supervise and guide other junior legal personnel to ensure effective support for the Legal Department.

Applies the legislation applicable to the Company in manner that is favorable and that ensures the Company is always in compliance with corporate governance requirements.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Juris Doctor or Master's degree in Law, preferably in a Commercial or Business stream.

8 years of relevant full-time work experience, 5 of which at a supervisory level, in a non-profit or corporate environment, with significant research, commercial, and contractual experience

Outstanding organizational and time management skills as well as thorough attention to detail

Outstanding interpersonal communication, presentation, teamwork, and negotiation skills

Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage

Proficiency in MS Office applications
