Role Description The Design CAD AV System Application Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pickering, ON. This role involves creating detailed AV system designs and technical drawings using CAD and BIM tools, ensuring compliance with company CAD standards and project specifications. The engineer collaborates with project managers, sales teams, and field engineers to translate client requirements into accurate system schematics, layouts, and equipment lists. Daily responsibilities include updating and maintaining drawing sets, coordinating design revisions, supporting documentation for installation and commissioning, and resolving design-related technical queries. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of design templates, standards, and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality across AV projects.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for technical system layouts.
• Ability to apply CAD Standards and best practices consistently across all project documentation.
• Skilled in Technical Drawing and Drawing interpretation for AV, electrical, and low-voltage systems.
• Experience translating system concepts and specifications into clear, build-ready design documents.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree in engineering, technology, or a related field.
• Experience in audiovisual, ELV, or related building systems design is highly beneficial.
• Solid understanding of construction documentation, coordination with MEP and architectural teams, and site implementation requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes applicable to AV and low-voltage systems is an asset.
