About the Company

Responsible for creating, developing, and improving products, systems, or components by applying engineering principles, design techniques, and problem-solving skills to ensure functional, safe, and cost-effective solutions.

About the Role

Deliver accurate and reliable engineering designs for 380kV substations in line with project specifications and utility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cable routing, trenching, and interconnection diagrams for EHV systems.
  • Modify existing designs to improve efficiency, performance, or reduce production costs.
  • Perform load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and insulation coordination studies.
  • Conduct protection coordination studies for 380kV system reliability.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential issues in design or production stages.
  • Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to meet project requirements.
  • Communicate design intent and specifications to production, procurement, and quality teams.
  • Coordinate with clients or stakeholders for design approvals, revisions, and feedback.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, manuals, and design reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, iterations, and approvals.
  • Research new technologies, materials, and design methodologies.
  • Suggest improvements to existing products or systems to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting during production or field implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems / High Voltage) or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate studies or professional certification in Power Systems / Substation Design (preferred).

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of EHV system design including 380kV GIS/AIS'S substations.
  • Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and power system analysis tools (ETAP, Dig SILENT, CYME).
  • 5–7 years of engineering design experience in EHV/HV substations (380kV, 230kV, 132kV).
  • Experience in creating technical drawings, 3D modelling, prototyping, and testing.
  • 2 years experience in similar role.
