Our client is a leading UAE-based specialist in architectural aluminium, glass, façade engineering and metal fabrication solutions with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility delivering landmark projects across the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Design Department to ensure timely delivery of high-quality design solutions for aluminium, glass projects.
- Review architectural, structural and tender drawings to develop practical and cost-effective façade designs.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants and Clients to clarify technical requirements and design specifications.
- Prepare and review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings and material submittals.
- Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, international standards and local authority regulations.
- Supervise the preparation of design calculations, material take-offs and engineering documentation.
- Monitor design schedules and allocate resources to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Design Engineers, BIM Modelers and Draftsmen throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Production and Site teams to ensure designs are suitable for fabrication and installation.
- Review design changes, value engineering proposals and technical queries to optimize project performance.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, ISO standards and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Conduct design review meetings and resolve technical issues with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualification / Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering , Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in the Construction, Contracting, Aluminium, Glass or Façade industry, including at least 3–5 years in a Design Manager or similar leadership role within GCC.
- Strong knowledge of architectural aluminium systems, curtain wall, glazing, cladding and façade engineering principles.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, design calculations and material submittals.
- Proficiency in BIM software like Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office are essentials.
- Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
