Design Senior Engineer - OHTL

Job Title: Design Senior Engineer

Sector/Business Line: Elsewedy Electric T&D.

Scope: Transmission & Distribution.

Department: Engineering

Reporting Line: Design Manager

• Perform design and checking of OHTL structures (towers, poles, gantries, substation steel support

structures) in compliance with international standards and project specifications.

• Design and validate OHTL foundations (pad & chimney, raft, piles, rock anchors, etc.), including

preparation of foundation drawings and BOQ.

• Develop and maintain the Engineering Deliverables List (EDL) and schedule to ensure timely

submission.

• Validate existing designs and follow up on full-scale load-type tests.

• Conduct design verification through prototype assembly and inspection of towers and steel support

structures.

• Review soil investigation reports and provide recommendations for foundation design.

• Review subcontractor agreements related to civil works (foundations, access roads, tower painting,

etc.).

• Participate in OHTL tender studies, estimations, BOQ, and technical clarifications.

• Conduct necessary site visits during the tender stage.

• Evaluate purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) for technical compliance.

• Attend technical meetings with project stakeholders as required.

• Review suppliers technical offers, shop drawings, erection drawings, and technical submittals for

client approval.

• Prepare technical submittal requests (TSRs) and maintain technical correspondence with suppliers.

• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and inspections for steel materials at suppliers facilities.

• Conduct site visits for ongoing projects to provide technical support and resolve design-related

issues.

• Follow up on engineering outsourcing activities and ensure proper documentation.

• Coordinate with consultants/clients to close technical comments.

• Ensure all designs and deliverables comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.

Years of Experience: Min. (5 – 7) years of experience in the same field.

Language: Fluent English & Arabic – French is preferable

Computer skills: Engineering Programs, especially (PLS-Lite, PLS-tower, iTower, AutoCAD, SAP, STAAD, ETABS, Safe, BoCAD, StruCad) and (MS Office, PowerPoint, Networks, Internet).
