Job Description

Join our Aircraft Engineering Design team and help deliver innovative, practical solutions that keep aircraft operating safely, efficiently, and on schedule. In this role, you will develop technical drawings, design repairs and modifications, and support tooling and equipment development, playing a critical part in maintaining airworthiness and driving engineering excellence.

When aircraft defects or damage are identified and corrective actions are not immediately available, you will provide timely technical drawings, sketches, and engineering solutions in line with instructions from Design Engineers and company procedures. You will also support the design and manufacture of hangar and workshop tooling and equipment, as well as the development of drawings and documentation for aircraft modifications and projects under Part 145 and DOA Part 21J privileges.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to provide clear, effective, concise and technically accurate technical drawings and/or sketches to support repairs and modifications using AutoCAD, SolidWorks or CATIA.
  • Accountable to design and approve equivalent tools, alternative tools, fixtures or jigs, stands, docking, placards, livery drawings, etc. under the privileges of Part 145.
  • Ensure that the technical drawings and/or sketches are in accordance with the company's MOE, TPM, DOH, DOP and are in compliance to the applicable regulation and standards.
  • Review all available data (such as IPC, SRM, AMM, CMM, SBs, Production Drawings, Standards and other applicable published manuals/maintenance data) when producing technical drawings and sketches.
  • Ensure that operational requirements (line/AOG) and light, base, workshop queries are responded to within set KPI's. Ensure man-hours are captured and invoiced and cMRO is duly updated.
  • Maintain the standards for an efficient engineering process from technical evaluation, concept solutions, approval validation and/or certification, and documentation.
  • Provide regular and meaningful status reporting to the Manager Engineering to determine critical path and risks to the network operation or maintenance activity and support Manager Engineering with any additional tasks or projects to meet organizational objectives.
  • Provide 24/7 support to the airline route network to increase technical dispatch reliability and support line, light, base and workshop maintenance activities to improve turnaround time.

Qualifications

  • Diploma Degree in Engineering with specific experience in the field of Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an EASA/GCAA Part 145/21J & Part M environment (equivalent FAA experience is acceptable), or TC Holder, DOA/POA environment, or suitable Industrial or Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
