The job holder will be responsible to lead Designing of projects from Design, which includes conceptualising and detailed planning, designing, standardising layouts, and create store navigation plan.
Retail Format Design / Re-design
- Conceptualize / Redesign retail formats for the Concept in line with the customer, mall requirements and latest market trends
- Develop complete design for the showroom that will include a comprehensive floor plan, exterior elevations, interior elevations, A/c diffuse allocation, lightning, graphic imaging (3D Presentation) and all material selections and finishes
- Develop designs for all other features / utilities of the Mall or store such as building placement / orientation, parking lot layout / flow, service vehicle access
- The person should be able to create navigation plan, fixture plan, overall customer journey in terms of exploration of product, element of surprise, design language and the shopping experience.
- Deliver detailed specifications and clear, concise, comprehensive, and complete engineering / interior drawings as required. Maintain/update all store layout standards, consistent across territories
- Ensure that all the layouts, designs and drawings are as per the company standards with the pre agreed concept philosophy and flow.
- Develop the zoning in the store as per the categories of products to be displayed by bearing in mind the principles of space management and profiles of the target consumers
- Review and process all shop drawing/sample submissions and consult within the Projects Team and External Consultants, as appropriate, to ensure the design intent is being maintained
- Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare architectural base plans, sections, elevations and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions
- Coordinate with the Buying, Planning, Retail Operations and VM team to get their inputs on the design, which includes the floor plan, elevations etc. Get inputs on business needs, product mix, delivery the expected design pack.
- Provide expertise in detail development and assisting in researching products and systems that accomplish the design intent
- Review and recommend to the retail team any changes that may be required to renovate the existing stores.
- SPOC for all layout changes, updates and upgradations. Create guidelines on DO's and DON'T's for VM and Retail operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in Architecture/ Planning & Design/ Applied Science / Civil Engineering
- AutoCAD, 3D Max, Photoshop, Revit, sketchup, MS pack/projects
- Exposure to the latest building materials, building systems and interior trends through formal or informal training (on-the-job experience)
- 10 15 years of Interior or Home Retail store design experience in UAE/GCC
