Objective:
The Destination Planner is responsible for the strategic planning and coordination of transportation activities related to goods delivery at destination points. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, optimizing delivery schedules, and contributing to the overall efficiency of transportation operation.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to develop and implement strategic transportation plans for goods delivery at destination points.
- Work closely with Destination Supervisors, Destination Coordinators, and other team members to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Optimize transportation processes at destination points, including routing, scheduling, and mode selection, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to implement strategies for load consolidation, backhauling, and intermodal solutions.
- Monitor and analyse transportation performance metrics at destination points, including on-time delivery, dwell time, and service levels.
- Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to take corrective actions as needed.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including customer service, procurement, and logistics teams, to align destination transportation operations with organizational objectives.
- Maintain effective communication channels to ensure coordination and collaboration between different functions.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to gain insights into destination transportation operations.
- Support the use of data-driven decision-making processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Actively contribute to the identification of areas for improvement in destination processes.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager to implement initiatives that enhance destination efficiency.
- Ensure destination transportation operations comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager and relevant authorities to address safety and compliance issues.
- Provide regular reports to the Transportation Operations Manager on destination transportation performance, initiatives, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Transportation Operations Manager in formulating policies, procedures, and guidelines related to destination transportation operations.
Qualifications:
- Diploma required. Or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English
- 2-4 years experience in similar or related field
