Job Title: Development Team Leader

Sector Business Line: Elsewedy Electric Infrastructure Investment

Scope: Urban Planning, Infrastructure and Environmental Solutions

Department: Development Department

Reporting Line: Development Director

Job Location: Head Office (New Cairo)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the development team, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring performance to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Support the professional development of team members through coaching and performance feedback.
  • Oversee the review and approval of investor drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements, master plan guidelines, and applicable standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the approval process for IDA environmental assessments, acting as the key liaison with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Drive master plan execution by directing the development and refinement of design briefs and development plans.
  • Evaluate consultant proposals, make recommendations on selection, and supervise consultants technical work to ensure project objectives, budgets, and timelines are met.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to resolve complex design and execution challenges, and escalate critical issues to the Development Director when needed.
  • Oversee the gathering and analysis of technical information to support commercial needs and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the preparation, quality control, and compilation of technical documentation for contracts and building license applications.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with architects, engineers, and internal teams throughout the design process, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Report regularly to the Development Director on project progress, risks, and team performance.
  • Promote best practices, standardize workflows, and support continuous improvement within the department.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, resource allocation, and budget tracking.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Urban Planning.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a team leadership or supervisory role.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong technical background in design review, development planning, and project supervision.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, consultants, and authorities.
  • Strong decision-making and planning skills, including managing priorities, deadlines, and resources.
  • Familiarity with building regulations, license procedures, and commercial project support is a plus.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit, and GIS.
  • V-Ray and SketchUp experience is a plus.
