Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head our Business Intelligence and Reporting team in Pune. This role involves managing a large team of 80+ professionals across junior, mid, and senior levels, with a strategic focus on transforming traditional reporting functions into a cutting-edge Conversational AI and Analytics advisory hub. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in BI tools, advanced analytics architectures, SQL, and a broad understanding of Generative AI to drive innovation and value for the organization. The candidate is preferred to have Pre Sales experience on large turnkey projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a large, diverse BI & Reporting team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Oversee the delivery of enterprise-wide reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and standard reporting services.
- Strategically reposition the team towards Conversational AI initiatives utilizing tools like Databricks Genie and other AI/ML platforms.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics architecture, including Medallion architecture, to ensure scalable, robust, and insightful data solutions.
- Drive the adoption of advanced SQL techniques and data modeling best practices across the team.
- Establish and grow the Analytics advisory services, providing strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in Generative AI and integrate relevant capabilities into the analytics and reporting ecosystem.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Engineering, Business Units) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, quality standards, and security policies.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, promote best practices, and advocate for innovation in BI and AI.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related fields.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with Power BI, Google Looker, Tableau, and standard reporting tools.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and advanced data modeling.
- Experience with Conversational AI tools such as Databricks Genie, and familiarity with AI/ML platforms.
- Broad exposure to Generative AI concepts, applications, and integration strategies.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead change, foster innovation, and deliver business impact through analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT / Engineering / Computer Science or related fields.
- Certifications in BI tools, Data Architecture, or AI/ML (e.g., Power BI Certification, Databricks, AWS/Azure certifications).
- Prior experience in financial services, insurance, or consulting industries is a plus.
