Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading mining and industrial organisation, is supporting the appointment of a Director – Digitalization & Innovation. The business is undergoing significant expansion and transformation, with technology and digital capability positioned as a key strategic pillar to support operational growth, infrastructure modernisation, and long-term value creation across its operations.
The Role
The Director – Digitalization & Innovation will be responsible for leading the enterprise-wide digital transformation strategy across a large and complex industrial environment. Reporting to the VP Business Improvement, the role combines strategic leadership, governance, infrastructure oversight, cybersecurity accountability, and innovation delivery across both operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) environments.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving large-scale digital transformation initiatives, governing a significant technology investment portfolio, and ensuring alignment between technology programs and business performance objectives. The position requires strong executive stakeholder engagement capability, combined with hands-on experience delivering transformation within industrial or operational environments.
The Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the multi-year enterprise digitalisation strategy aligned with operational and business objectives.
- Oversee the execution of digital transformation initiatives across infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, automation, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise data systems.
- Govern and manage a large-scale digital investment portfolio, ensuring disciplined prioritisation, execution, and value delivery across projects and programs.
- Drive integration and optimisation across OT and IT environments, ensuring operational resilience, scalability, and security.
- Lead digital governance frameworks, including stage-gate approvals, investment prioritisation, and performance reporting.
- Oversee cybersecurity strategy and ensure secure-by-design principles are embedded across digital products and platforms.
- Develop and govern enterprise-wide data management and data governance frameworks, including data architecture, quality, stewardship, and scalability.
- Lead cross-functional teams across digitalisation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and project delivery functions.
- Drive organisational change management and support enterprise-wide technology adoption and digital capability development.
- Engage with executive leadership and operational stakeholders to align digital initiatives with strategic business priorities.
- Support innovation initiatives focused on operational efficiency, automation, data-driven decision making, and sustainable competitive advantage.
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications in digital transformation, data analytics, information systems, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum 15+ years experience leading digitalisation strategy development and deployment within complex industrial or operational environments.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programs and managing high-value technology portfolios.
- Strong understanding of OT/IT infrastructure, cloud environments, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and industrial digital platforms.
- Experience leading initiatives involving AI/ML, advanced analytics, automation, and enterprise data architecture.
- Strong executive stakeholder management and communication capability.
- Experience within mining, chemicals, heavy industry, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capability across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
- Arabic language capability advantageous.
