Director - Financial risk management

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director or Director for our Financial Risk Management (FRM) practice, based in Riyadh. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading key projects, providing strategic risk advisory, and strengthening our presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities

Lead large-scale FRM projects and client engagements, ensuring the delivery of top-quality risk advisory and consulting services.

Develop, implement, and review risk frameworks across the risk domain in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Advise clients on financial risk issues, including market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks, as well as on risk modelling and stress testing.

Support clients with regulatory compliance, capital adequacy, and risk reporting, with particular alignment to SAMA and Basel regulations.

Design and deliver presentations, workshops, and training sessions for clients and internal teams.

Manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams; foster a culture of excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Lead business development initiatives, including proposal writing, client pitches, and identifying new market opportunities.

Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key client stakeholders and industry bodies.

Stay abreast of global and local regulatory developments, emerging risks, and advancements in risk management technology.

Contribute thought leadership through publications, seminars, and participation in industry forums.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional certification such as FRM, CFA, PRM, or equivalent is highly preferred.

Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in financial risk management, ideally within a leading consultancy, financial institution, or regulatory body.

Extensive knowledge of global and regional regulatory standards (SAMA, Basel III/IV, IFRS 9, etc.).

Proven track record of managing and delivering complex risk management projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in risk modelling tools and data analytics.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.

Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in mentoring teams and leading crossfunctional initiatives.

Bilingual proficiency in both English and Arabic is required.

Prior experience working in the Middle East or with regional financial institutions is an asset.
