M&A & ECM Director – Dubai
The Opportunity
An investment bank is looking to appoint a Director-level M&A & ECM professional to join its Dubai team. This is a broad-based senior role for an investment banker with proven experience across both M&A advisory and Equity Capital Markets, rather than a specialist focused exclusively on one product.
The successful candidate will play a key role in originating and executing transactions across the Middle East, working closely with senior bankers, management teams, shareholders and institutional investors.
The role is sector agnostic, providing exposure to a broad range of industries and transaction types across the GCC and wider EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute M&A transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, joint ventures and strategic advisory mandates.
- Lead and execute ECM transactions, including IPOs, follow-on offerings, rights issues, accelerated bookbuilds and other equity offerings.
- Support and drive origination across both M&A and ECM, developing relationships with corporates, shareholders, financial sponsors and institutional investors.
- Take responsibility for transaction execution from initial pitch through to completion.
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with clients across the Middle East.
- Prepare and oversee financial analysis, valuation work, transaction structures, pitch materials and marketing documentation.
- Coordinate internal teams and external advisers throughout live transactions.
- Work closely with senior leadership on business development and strategic opportunities across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and wider GCC.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the investment banking team.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm's M&A and ECM franchise in the region.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8–12 years of investment banking experience.
- Strong transaction experience across both M&A and ECM.
- Demonstrable experience executing ECM transactions, ideally including IPOs and follow-on offerings.
- Proven experience executing M&A transactions across acquisitions, disposals and strategic advisory.
- Middle East / GCC transaction experience is essential or highly desirable.
- EMEA transaction experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong technical skills across financial modelling, valuation and transaction analysis.
- Excellent understanding of capital markets and corporate finance.
- Strong client-facing and business development capabilities.
- Ability to operate effectively across multiple products and sectors.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Existing relationships with corporates, sponsors, investors and/or other key market participants across the Middle East would be advantageous.
