We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director to lead growth initiatives across the GCC, Levant, and selected African markets. The ideal candidate will bring a strong industry network, strategic mindset, and proven track record in identifying and securing major opportunities across energy and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across targeted sectors and geographies
- Lead market intelligence activities, competitor analysis, and strategic positioning efforts
- Develop relationships with government authorities, utilities, developers, and strategic partners
- Support prequalification submissions, tenders, consortium building, and commercial negotiations
- Drive business development initiatives for EPC, PPP, BOT, BOO, and concession-based projects
- Coordinate with technical, commercial, and executive teams to develop winning strategies
- Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and regional business forums
- Maintain and expand strategic networks across the GCC, Levant, and Africa
Requirements & Experience
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in business development, project development, or commercial leadership roles
- Strong experience within the Power sector
- Proven Upstream and/or Midstream Oil & Gas background
- Demonstrated experience in Waste-to-Energy projects
- Exposure to Fertilizers and Petrochemicals sectors
- Solid understanding of Concessions, PPP, BOT, and project financing structures
- Previous experience with CCC or Orascom Construction is highly preferred
- Strong professional network across GCC and/or Levant markets including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Libya
- Exposure to African markets is considered an advantage
- Proven ability to originate and develop high-value projects and strategic partnerships
- Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Arabic speaker is mandatory; English fluency is essential
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred
- Strong understanding of EPC contracting, infrastructure development, and regional market dynamics
