The Engineering Director (EPC) is responsible for the strategic leadership of the engineering department and oversight of engineering activities throughout the full EPC project lifecyclefrom FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) to detailed engineering, procurement support, construction, and commissioning. This role acts as a bridge between engineering teams, project managers, and senior management to ensure technical excellence and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Engineering Leadership: Develop and implement engineering strategies, policies, and procedures that align with company goals.
- Project Lifecycle Oversight: Direct engineering activities for large-scale projects, including conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with specifications and international standards.
- Team Management & Mentoring: Lead, coach, and mentor multi-disciplinary teams of engineers (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) and managers (50+ professionals).
- Technical & Design Review: Approve critical engineering designs, calculations, and technical documents, ensuring constructability and operability.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Own engineering budgets, project controls, and schedules, driving cost savings through value engineering.
- Procurement Support & Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with procurement to evaluate vendors, manage technical queries (TQ), and mitigate risks related to design bottlenecks or material delays.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, managing expectations and technical negotiations.
- Construction Support: Coordinate with construction teams to resolve field engineering issues and ensure seamless handover.
- HSE Compliance: Ensure all engineering designs adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Electrical) from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum of 1015+ years of experience in engineering within the EPC industry, with significant experience in project management or leadership roles.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams and drive a high-performance culture.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, IEEE, IEC).
- Tools: Familiarity with 3D modeling, project management, and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant, Primavera P6).
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification is often preferred.
