The Role

As Director of Housekeeping, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all housekeeping and laundry functions across the property. You are responsible for setting the vision, standards, financial performance, and service excellence of the department while ensuring full alignment with Red Sea Global Hospitality's values-led culture.

You will serve the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sustainability, safety, and operational efficiency. As a key member of the Leadership team, you will collaborate closely with the General Manager and executive leadership team to deliver unparalleled service excellence reflective of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's world-class hospitality vision.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Develop and implement the overall housekeeping strategy in alignment with the hotel's business objectives.
  • Lead long-term workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development strategies.
  • Prepare, manage, and control the annual departmental budget, including CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Drive financial performance, ensuring achievement of cost control, productivity, and revenue objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the General Manager regarding asset protection, FF&E lifecycle planning, and property enhancement initiatives.
  • Lead pre-opening and task force missions in support of new Red Sea Global Hospitality properties.

Operations Oversight

  • Provide full oversight of housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring standards exceed brand expectations.
  • Establish, review, and continuously improve departmental SOPs/LSOPs in alignment with company standards.
  • Ensure all public areas, guest rooms, heart-of-house areas, and colleague facilities are maintained to the highest standards at all times.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, linen reuse programs, and environmentally responsible practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and risk management protocols.
  • Monitor quality assurance audits and guest satisfaction metrics, implementing corrective action plans where required.

Financial & Asset Management

  • Oversee payroll management, productivity benchmarks, and departmental expense controls.
  • Manage supplier relationships, service contracts, and procurement strategies.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits of linen, uniforms, operating supplies, and equipment.
  • Review bi-monthly linen and guest supply inventories and submit financial variance analysis reports.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.

People & Culture Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the Housekeeping leadership team.
  • Partner with HR on recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, and disciplinary processes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and service excellence.
  • Drive training programs to enhance operational skills, leadership capability, and service standards.
  • Lead by example through a visible and hands-on leadership approach.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for lost & found, linen control, supplier contracts, and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Minimum 810 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience in luxury hotels or resorts.
  • Previous experience in a Director-level or Executive Housekeeper role within a luxury or large-scale property.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing large departmental budgets.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multicultural teams.
  • Experience in pre-opening environments is highly desirable.
