Job Description

Summary:

The Director of Nursing is responsible and accountable for managing the Nursing Department and ensuring that superior quality of nursing services are provided to patients in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.


Managerial Responsibilities

  1. :Contribute to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the sector through performing own responsibilities and managing direct reports performance
  2. .Set the department's goals and objectives and ensure the cascading of such to reporting sections, and guide their achievement
  3. .Contribute to the development of the sector's policies, procedures and processes through providing input as advised by the direct supervisor
  4. .Provide direction and advice to the direct reports in performing their delegated responsibilities
  5. .Ensure the ongoing development of the department's employees, and assure the developmental activities of direct reports
  6. .Oversee the overall performance of direct reports and ensure KPI's are well communicated and monitored
  7. .Ensure effective identification, allocation and utilization of the division's resources

Functional Responsibilitie

  2. e.The Nursing Director is responsible and accountable for the standard of nursing care in the hospital along with the Medical Director and Quality Director. All should work as one team to monitor and observe the standards of clinical care provided to patients all over the hospita
  3. l.The Nursing Director and other nurse Managers together with the nursing staff and nursing aides are the cornerstone for the provision of a high quality and safe car
  4. e.The nursing director is responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of nursing services provided to patient
  5. s.The nursing director develops the nursing organizational chart as well as the nursing education and quality improvemen
  6. t.Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the CARE Hospitals and Clinic
  7. s.Develop and communicate the vision and mission statement of the Nursing Departmen
  8. t.The nursing director represents the nursing staff as one of the hospital leader
  9. s.The nursing director participates with the other hospital leaders in the decision making processes, including planning and budgetin
  10. g.Recommend space, medical technology, staffing and other resources needed by the department or services and have a process in place to respond shortage
  11. s.The nursing director participates in the hospital's multi-disciplinary structures (e.g., committees such as quality improvement, infection control and pharmacy and therapeutics
  12. ).Conduct short and long range strategic planning in accordance with Hospital objective
  13. s.The nursing director oversees and assures that committees recommendations are implemented at the nursing leve
  14. l.Provide guidance and leadership to all nursing staff to ensure effective and efficient flow of work, and ensure all employees recognize their fundamental role in the departmen
  15. t.The nursing director assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability for assuring proper and effective nursing service
  16. s.The nursing director establishes, oversees, and approves nursing policies and procedures and nursing professional standards of practice and patient car
  17. e.The nursing director ensures participation with other hospital leaders in the development of practices that promote patients and staff safety (e.g., infection control, safe medication management, safe use of medical equipment, and fire safety
