Department: Office of Vice President of Student Affairs
Reports to: Dean of Student Affaird
Scope And Purpose
Leads the Office of Student Life by setting the strategic direction for student engagement, leadership development, athletics, and campus culture. Oversees departmental operations, builds collaborative relationships across university divisions, and ensures that co-curricular programs foster belonging, growth, and excellence. Drives innovation to create an environment where students thrive academically and socially.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide vision and leadership for all Office of Student Life operations, aligning departmental goals with AUK's mission.
- Oversee Athletics, Clubs & Organizations, Events, and Adjudication units.
- Develop strategic plans, policies, and budgets that enhance student engagement and institutional impact.
- Foster partnerships with sponsors, universities, and external organizations to elevate AUK's student life presence regionally.
- Mentor staff to cultivate a performance-driven, student-centered culture.
- Ensure compliance with university standards and uphold quality assurance in all programs.
- Lead departmental assessment and reporting initiatives to track outcomes and improve operations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Higher Education Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs Administration, Educational Leadership, Education, Organizational Leadership, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or another closely related field.
Experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, including leadership experience in student affairs, student life, campus engagement, or a related functional area. Demonstrated experience supervising staff, managing budgets, developing student programs, and collaborating across university departments is required.
