Job Description

The Director of Supply Chain leads end-to-end supply chain strategy and operations, from procurement and vendor management through warehousing, inventory, and logistics. The role carries full ownership of the department's budget, KPIs, and team, with significant influence over cost efficiency and service levels across the organization. It requires deep supply chain expertise, strong commercial and negotiation skills, and the leadership presence to manage a multi-disciplinary team and a broad network of external partners

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  • Set the supply chain department's strategy, goals, budgets, and KPIs in alignment with divisional and organizational objectives.
  • Develop supply chain policies and ensure the processes and procedures are in place to execute them effectively.
  • Monitor and control supply chain expenditures against approved budget and reconcile budget variances to ensure on-target performance against budgets.
  • Directs and coordinates supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
  • Select and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, warehouse service providers and clearing agents.
  • Work with 3rd party service providers to ensure achievement of cost, accuracy, and timeliness objectives.
  • Review and manage contracts with 3rd party service providers, identify non-compliance and take necessary action as required.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and users to understand current and future business needs, identify business process changes and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure reconciliation of physical stock with the system, in case of discrepancy work with people concerned to reconcile it.
  • Manage the inventory team and stock taking activities to ensure the accuracy and availability of the products in MP's storages.
  • Supervise and ensure receipt of goods on time, assist in customs clearance as and when required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to reduce landed costs through efficient demand planning and accuracy.
  • Ensure the provision of tendering services, including preparation of RFIs and RFP templates, liaising with bidders on documentation, receiving and documentation of bids, commercial evaluation and negotiation of bids, preparation of presentations to the Tender Committee, and communication of award to suppliers
  • Assist end users in post-award resolution of commercial issues in coordination with Legal Affairs
  • Manage the performance of the cost benchmarking exercise.
  • Ensure that project cost schedules are in-line with MP's benchmarks to ensure best-value for money for all services and material procurement.
  • Assist in the performance of other special duties and projects as needed in support of organizational goals.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

● Bachelor's degree in operations or supply chain management or equivalent

● CSCP, CPSM and other relevant certifications preferred and desired

Experience:

● Minimum 15 years of experience in a supply chain managerial role preferably in the GCC.

● Knowledge of the local laws, regulations, and business landscape.
