About the Role
We are seeking a Director to lead the design and development of utilities systems across one of the world's most ambitious airport developments. This role will oversee water, sewage, and drainage design to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with overall airport infrastructure strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of Mobility and Infrastructure Design business plan ensuring alignment with KSIADC strategy
- Develop the operational plan for Utilities Water, Sewage, and Drainage Design in line with the overall Design strategy
- Lead end-to-end utilities design development from concept to detailed design Establish design frameworks, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency
- Coordinate with Airport Master Planning and Strategy to define design objectives and requirements
- Manage design consultants, including selection, RFP development, and technical alignment
- Lead design review meetings to ensure alignment with operational needs and stakeholder expectations
- Define project deliverables including conceptual designs, detailed drawings, and compliance reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, aviation standards, and safety specifications
- Oversee the design of water distribution networks, sewage systems, drainage systems, and firewater infrastructure
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery
- Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analysis, providing mitigation strategies
- Approve design packages, technical documentation, and change requests in line with project objectives
- Oversee site implementation, testing, and commissioning to ensure operational readiness
- Provide guidance on corrective actions to address delays, risks, and quality issues
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position
- Proven experience in utilities design (water, sewage, and drainage systems) within large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience in airport or aviation projects is preferred
- Strong background in managing design consultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in regulatory compliance, design approvals, and stakeholder management
