About the Role
To manage and control terminal equipment operations from the control room, ensuring optimal utilization, efficient dispatching, minimal delays, and smooth coordination between yard, vessel, and gate operations.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch and allocate terminal equipment (RTGs, Reach Stackers, ITVs, trucks) based on operational priorities.
- Monitor real-time equipment productivity and yard/vessel operations.
- Adjust equipment deployment dynamically to optimize performance and reduce idle time.
- Coordinate closely with Yard, Vessel Operations, and Gate teams.
- Liaise with Engineering/Maintenance teams for breakdowns and recovery actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during equipment movements.
- Maintain clear communication via VHF/radio systems.
- Record and report operational delays, breakdowns, and performance metrics.
- Support planning team with execution feedback and operational constraints.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of terminal equipment operations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Quick decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Familiarity with TOS systems (Navis or similar preferred)
- Proficiency in radio communication protocols
- Basic understanding of safety standards in container terminals
Preferred Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in container terminal operations
- Prior experience as dispatcher, controller, or similar control room role preferred
- Experience handling RTG, RS, and truck fleet coordination is an advantage
