Job Purpose
The Dive Technician is a site-based role responsible for supporting the maintenance, servicing, and operational readiness of all dive-related equipment across the assigned asset(s).
Working closely with the Dive Center Technician and operational teams, this role ensures that all diving equipment is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, local regulations, and company policies.
The Dive Technician plays a critical role in ensuring safe and seamless dive operations by proactively managing equipment condition, conducting timely repairs, and maintaining accurate inventory and servicing records within a high-end marine tourism environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Responsibilities
- Ensure all dive-related equipment is fully functional, safe, and ready for use at all times.
- Support the Dive Center Technician and management in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of dive equipment.
- Assist other dive center locations, as required, with equipment servicing and operational support.
- Maintain flexibility to work across sites, including remote operations and on-site support as needed.
2. Pre-Opening Support
- Support the setup, inspection, and commissioning of all dive equipment during the pre-opening phase.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the delivery stage to ensure all equipment meets operational and safety requirements.
- Assist in establishing maintenance systems, inventory processes, and service schedules.
3. Operational Responsibilities (Post-Opening)
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs of all dive equipment, including regulators, BCDs, cylinders, compressors, and related systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out professionally and in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including asset tracking and service histories.
- Record and monitor all equipment servicing, repairs, and replacements.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment faults, ensuring timely resolution to minimize operational disruption.
- Support the daily operations of the dive center, including equipment preparation and readiness.
- Ensure all equipment is stored, handled, and transported in accordance with best practices.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
4. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
- Ensure safety is always the highest priority in all equipment handling and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of compressed gases and diving equipment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards and promote responsible operational practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and storage environment.
5. Policies, Procedures & Reporting
- Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and inventory records.
- Report any equipment failures, risks, or safety concerns promptly to management.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the implementation of best practices aligned with international diving and technical standards.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Dive Equipment Technician (brand-specific certifications to be defined based on operational requirements, e.g., regulators/compressors manufacturers).
- Certified Cylinder Technician in accordance with recognized industry standards.
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining dive equipment within a commercial or tourism environment.
- Experience in equipment inventory management and maintenance planning.
- Strong understanding of diving health and safety standards.
- Valid Fit to Dive medical certification.
Core Competencies
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong technical aptitude with hands-on problem-solving skills.

- Certified Compressor Technician (brand-specific certification preferred).
- Additional language proficiency (preferably Arabic).
- Guest-facing experience within dive or tourism operations.
- Knowledge of marine life identification.
- Underwater photography and videography skills.
- Experience in gas blending and enriched air systems (e.g., Nitrox).
