As a Document Controller at Al Marasem Company, you will be responsible for managing, organizing, and controlling all project documentation across construction projects. You will ensure that all drawings, submittals, RFIs, method statements, approvals, and correspondences are properly logged, distributed, updated, and archived in compliance with company procedures and project standards.
You will support technical, engineering, and site teams by maintaining accurate, accessible, and traceable project records.
Your responsibilities will encompass the following key areas:
Document Management & Control
- Maintain and manage all incoming and outgoing project documents including drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, NCRs, MOMs, and correspondence.
- Ensure correct coding, formatting, filing, scanning, and archiving of all documents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date document registers and logs.
Drawings & Submittals Tracking
- Control the distribution, revision, and receipt of drawings and technical documents.
- Ensure teams always work with the latest approved versions.
- Track document approvals and pending actions.
Workflow & Compliance
- Follow up on document approval cycles with consultants and stakeholders.
- Ensure all documents meet project standards and company submission requirements.
- Prepare and issue document transmittals for record-keeping.
Coordination & Communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for document exchange between consultants, contractors, and internal departments.
- Maintain complete records of communications and approvals.
- Assist project teams in document retrieval and referencing.
Reporting & Audit Readiness
- Generate periodic reports on document status, pending approvals, and workflow progress.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical archives ready for audits.
- Ensure full traceability of revisions and approvals.
Confidentiality & Quality Assurance
- Protect document integrity and confidentiality.
- Ensure strict adherence to company document control policies and procedures.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree is a must.
- +5 years of experience in document control within construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering and project documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken) are required.
