Job Purpose:
The Draftsman - Landscape is responsible to prepare accurate landscape drawings, planting plans and external works documentation that support concept, detailed and IFC design stages. The role ensures coordinated, well-presented and technically aligned drawings that reflect the design team's intent, comply with authority requirements and integrate smoothly with infrastructure and architectural inputs.
Key Accountabilities:
Landscape Drafting & Layout Preparation
- Prepare hardscape, softscape, planting, and external works drawings based on designer instructions.
- Develop detailed layouts with accurate dimensions, annotations and levels.
- Ensure drawings communicate design intent clearly and consistently.
Design Coordination Support
- Update drawings following feedback from landscape designers, architects and infrastructure teams.
- Assist in resolving layout conflicts involving utilities, site levels and building interfaces.
Compliance with Standards & Authority Requirements
- Prepare drawings in alignment with Sharjah Municipality drafting standards and project guidelines.
- Incorporate design revisions or authority comments into updated drawing sets.
Documentation Management & Revisions
- Maintain organized CAD files, drawing registers and revision records.
- Ensure all drawings issued for tender or IFC reflect the latest approved information.
Site-Related Drawing Updates
- Revise drawings based on site markups, as-built inputs and external works clarifications.
- Update layouts to reflect changes in levels, utility alignments or hardscape adjustments observed onsite.
- Coordinate with site teams to confirm clarifications before incorporating them into revised drawings.
Quality Control & Presentation Accuracy
- Check drawings for clarity, correct layering, scale accuracy and consistent detailing before release.
- Ensure sheet compositions, titles and drawing numbers follow approved templates and naming conventions.
Educational Qualifications, Work Experience, and Skills Required:
Educational Qualification & Certifications:
- Must have a Bachelors degree or Diploma in Landscape Design, Civil Drafting or related field.
- Training in AutoCAD or landscape drafting tools preferred.
Work Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of landscape or external works drafting experience within UAE.
- Must have experience in preparing planting plans, hardscape layouts, levels and external works drawings.
Skills required:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong command of landscape drafting conventions.
- Understanding of planting layouts, hardscape detailing and external works coordination.
- Good coordination skills for working with landscape designers, architects and infrastructure teams.
- Strong file management discipline and naming protocols.
- Accuracy in annotation, dimensioning and detail representation.
- Ability to integrate updated design inputs quickly and maintain drawing consistency.
- Clear communication and follow-through on design team instructions.
