Job Title: Drilling Rig Foreman
Overview
The Drilling Rig Foreman is responsible for supervising daily field operations for land-based drilling and workover rigs. The role ensures that all activities on deep or critical wells are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational standards. This position serves as the primary on-site liaison between the company and contractors, ensuring proper execution of work programs, adherence to safety requirements, and effective coordination of materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee all drilling and workover operations performed on assigned wells.
- Ensure all rig personnel and service providers comply with applicable safety standards and operational requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend alternative methods or equipment when encountering non-routine situations.
- Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to ensure availability when required.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with drilling and workover engineers to implement modern and efficient drilling practices.
- Review and approve contractor daily reports.
- Ensure proper maintenance of rig equipment to minimize downtime.
- Verify that blowout prevention equipment, configuration, testing, and crew response meet all required standards.
- Perform additional duties as directed by supervisory leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
Option A:
- Approximately thirteen (13) years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations, including supervisory experience, typically gained through progressive roles on drilling or workover rigs.
OR
Option B:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in drilling and workover operations, including sufficient supervisory experience on a drilling or workover rig.
Additional Requirement:
- Willingness to work in remote locations and live in mobile camps as operational needs require.
