We are looking for a dynamic, creative and organised Art & Design Technician to join our exceptional team, primarily within the Secondary phase for a January 2027 start.

Job Purpose:
Assist teachers in their work as directed. A Technician will be asked to assist with a range of tasks on a regular basis

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS/RDS Core Values.
- Prepare labs, rooms, resources and equipment as directed by the teacher.
- Assist the teacher with DT/ART/Food related activities.
- Develop familiarity with relevant aspects of the curriculum.
- Maintain orderly workspaces ensuring readiness for the next lesson
- Run small group activities inside or outside the classroom as directed by the teacher.
- Organise stock and resources.
- Create work displays and assist with preparation of displays
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are always followed.
- Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
- Good level of general education especially in Math and English
- First aid certificate
- Health and safety training using DT equipment and machinery
- Strong communication skills with excellent standard of written and spoken English.
- Able to handle and a range of tasks, work under pressure and relate well to children and colleagues.
- Basic knowledge of IT and/or CAD (computer aided design)
- Experience in some form of practical subject/profession;
