Job Description

Position Overview

A Qualified Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspectors for offshore deployment on behalf of an international certification and quality assurance organization. The role involves performing inspection, verification, and quality assurance of E&I systems and equipment on offshore installations. Successful candidates will ensure full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and hazardous area classification requirements. This includes reviewing documentation, witnessing testing activities, and identifying non-conformances through detailed reporting. The position demands a strong commitment to safety and technical excellence in a demanding offshore environment.

Mandatory Certifications

  • COMPEX certified (mandatory)
  • IECEx certified (mandatory)
  • T-BOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) - valid and current (not mandatory)
  • H2S Awareness / Safety training - valid and current (not mandatory)

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 12+ years of relevant E&I inspection experience
  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
  • Sound knowledge of hazardous area classification, Ex equipment inspection, and international codes/standards (IEC, API, IEEE, etc.)
  • Experience conducting inspection of electrical installations, instrumentation systems, cabling, earthing/bonding, and Ex-rated equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical single-line diagrams, and hook-up drawings
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills for inspection findings and non-conformance reports

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection and verification of E&I equipment and installations on offshore platforms in line with project/client specifications and international standards
  • Perform hazardous area (Ex) inspections and verify compliance with COMPEX/IECEx requirements
  • Review and verify electrical and instrumentation documentation, test records, and certification packages
  • Identify non-conformances and raise inspection reports/observations for corrective action
  • Liaise with client, contractor, and third-party stakeholders on inspection scheduling and findings
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements while working in an offshore environment
  • Maintain accurate, timely inspection records and close-out documentation

HSE Requirements

  • Medical fitness certificate for offshore work (e.g. OGUK or equivalent) to be arranged/verified prior to mobilization
  • Full compliance with client HSE policies and offshore safety procedures at all times
