The Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Journalist that has experience writing about the Robotics Industry to create high-quality industry journalism for the people building, researching, investing in and shaping the global robotics industry.

Our readers include executives, founders, engineers, manufacturers, factory professionals, researchers, university professors, investors and other industry decision-makers.

This is not general technology journalism. You need to understand the business of robotics and report on it with depth, accuracy and authority.

What You Will Do

You will identify, research and write stories that matter to professionals within the robotics industry.

You will:

• Produce original business and industry journalism
• Identify important stories and market developments early
• Investigate companies, technologies, claims and industry trends
• Build relationships and communicate directly with robotics manufacturers and companies
• Interview executives, founders, engineers, researchers, academics and industry experts
• Develop and maintain strong industry sources
• Analyze companies, competitors, technologies and market developments
• Work with our global field teams to gather information directly from the source
• Use data, research and primary sources to strengthen reporting
• Turn complex industry developments into clear, authoritative journalism

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a journalist with a minimum of 5–6 years of professional experience in business, industry, technology or specialist journalism.

You should have:

• Strong business and investigative journalism experience
• Excellent written English
• Strong research, interviewing and fact-checking skills
• Experience developing industry sources and working directly with companies
• The ability to analyze companies, markets and competitive landscapes
• Strong editorial judgment
• The ability to understand complex industries and communicate them clearly
• The ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy or depth

Experience covering robotics, automation, manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, deep tech or related industries is highly preferred.

What We Are NOT Looking For

We are not looking for a general content writer or someone who simply rewrites press releases and information already available online.

We are looking for an experienced journalist who researches, questions, investigates and understands what matters to the industry.
