About the Role
We are looking for an experienced EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) Data Modeler to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing enterprise-scale data models for banking data warehouses and delivering robust analytical data solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, ETL developers, and BI teams to build scalable, high-performing data models that support regulatory reporting, risk management, and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Data Modeling
- Design and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models for Enterprise Data Warehouses.
- Develop dimensional models using Star and Snowflake schemas.
- Create enterprise data models for Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and analytical platforms.
- Perform source-to-target mapping, data profiling, and gap analysis.
- Define and maintain data standards, naming conventions, and metadata.
Banking Data Warehouse
- Design data models for banking domains including:
- Customer
- Accounts
- Loans
- Deposits
- Payments
- Cards
- Treasury
- Risk
- Finance
- Support enterprise reporting and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure data consistency, lineage, and governance across the EDW.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Data Architects, ETL Developers, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts.
- Participate in solution design discussions and architecture reviews.
- Provide guidance on data modeling best practices and performance optimization.
Performance & Governance
- Optimize data models for reporting and analytical performance.
- Maintain metadata, business glossary, and data dictionaries.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.
- Strong expertise in:
- Enterprise Data Modeling
- Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data Models
- Star Schema & Snowflake Schema
- Data Warehouse Design
- Data Marts
- Excellent SQL skills.
- Experience with Data Modeling tools such as:
- ERwin
- ER/Studio
- PowerDesigner
- Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience working with enterprise Data Warehouse platforms.
- Good understanding of Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.
Banking Domain Experience (Mandatory)
Candidates must have hands-on experience in the Banking domain, with exposure to one or more of the following:
