We are currently recruiting an experienced Electric Motor Rewind Technician to join a specialist engineering company in Ireland. This role involves the repair, rewinding and testing of a wide range of AC and DC electric motors used in industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Rewinding and reconnecting 3-phase AC stators and rotors including random and form windings (400V13,800V).
- Rewinding DC machines, including armatures, field and interpole windings.
- Repairing windings and replacing leads where required.
- Rewinding AC and DC brake coils.
- Carrying out testing after rewinding using specialised equipment such as surge testers, core-loss testers and test panels.
- Ensuring all work meets EASA AR100 standards and company quality requirements.
- Recording technical winding data and maintaining accurate job documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support workshop operations and occasionally assist with field service work or estimating tasks when required.
- Work collaboratively within the engineering team while maintaining high safety standards.
- Provide support and on-the-job guidance where necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in electric motor rewinding.
- Strong knowledge of AC and DC motor repair and rewinding processes.
- Experience working with industrial motors and electrical winding systems.
- Good understanding of testing and diagnostic equipment used in motor repair.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and technical documentation.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move components up to 20kg.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions in English.
