Job Description

Job Summary:

The Electrical BIM Engineer will be responsible for developing and managing Building Information Models (BIM) for electrical systems in various projects. The role involves collaboration with design and engineering teams to ensure the accurate representation of electrical systems, compliance with project standards, and seamless integration with other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Create, modify, and maintain BIM models for electrical systems using Autodesk Revit and other BIM software.
  • Coordinate BIM models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to avoid clashes.
  • oEnsure adherence to project-specific BIM execution plans and company standards.
  • Assist in the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and communication systems, using BIM tools.
  • Perform detailed documentation of electrical systems, including layouts, schedules, and other deliverables.
  • Conduct model reviews and clash detection using tools like Navisworks.
  • Ensure all models meet quality standards and project specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliverables.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members on BIM-related processes.
  • Prepare and update electrical BIM-related reports, drawings, and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on the latest BIM software updates and industry trends.
  • Suggest improvements to workflows and processes to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years in BIM coordination or modelling.
  • Experience with GCC projects, preferably in healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality, and/or institutional design sectors.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Electrical discipline), AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM-related tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of BIM Level of Detail (LOD) requirements.
  • Familiarity with clash detection and resolution processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit is preferred.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as IEEE or CIBSE is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
