Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) to support the commissioning of a 200MW data center project. This role focuses on verifying that electrical distribution and power systems meet design intent, code requirements, and the Owner's Project Requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support commissioning of electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, busway, and PDUs.
  • Assist with development and execution of test scripts for factory witness testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and integrated systems testing (IST).
  • Review electrical single-line diagrams, protective relay settings, and coordination studies for commissioning purposes.
  • Log and track commissioning issues, deficiencies, and punch list items through to closeout.
  • Support load bank testing, UPS battery testing, and generator load testing activities.
  • Verify installation and startup activities align with manufacturer requirements and project specifications.
  • Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, checklists, and test records.
  • Coordinate with electrical contractors, vendors, and design engineers during test execution.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in electrical commissioning, MEP construction, or critical power systems, ideally within data centers or mission-critical facilities.
  • Understanding of medium/low voltage distribution, standby power systems, and UPS topologies common in hyperscale environments.
  • Familiarity with commissioning standards and safety practices (e.g., NFPA 70E, arc flash awareness).
  • Experience with data center Tier III/IV or equivalent redundancy topologies (N+1, 2N) (Preferred).
  • Exposure to protective relay testing or power quality analysis(Preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, NETA, or working toward chartership) (Preferred).
