Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all extra low voltage systems inspections related to installations, testing, commissioning for the involved project by implementing all aspects of the quality management systems and site supervision activities.
  • Perform Inspections and prepare reports to verify documents that scheduled and unscheduled works and activities in compliance to the regulations, standards and accordance with the Dar Quality Assurance (QA) Program.
  • Performing inspection and supervision of the ELV installation such as Fire Alarm System, Building Management System (BMS), Master Antenna TV System (MATV), Tetra Radio System, Security Access Control, CCTV System, Public Address System, and Structure Cabling Network.
  • Ensure inspection checklist and frequency of inspection are reviewed and approved by the Technical Services Manager and a clear forward plan and programme for such Inspections is developed.
  • Ensure all completed Inspection Checklist, reports & recommendations are issued for record and performance review purposes.
  • Ensure safe working practices including compliance with permits to work system & DAR Standard Operating Procedures are implemented by Contractors and Subcontractors staff its acceptability for use on the project.
  • Liaise with the Sr. Engineer for the effective implementation of the quality management system and site supervision provision activities.
  • Attend site technical coordination meetings to discuss contractor(s) submissions, shop drawings, material submittals and construction related matters ensuring that all statutory authority No Objection Certificates (NOC)/permits/design approvals are available on site for construction.
  • Raise non-conformance notices (NCNs) reports, site inspections notices (SINs), and identify quality deficiencies in conjunction with the Sr. Engineer
  • Assist in the review and forward comments on the contactor's method statement for execution of the works and approve the contractor's operations & maintenance manuals monitoring the progress of the work against the approved contractor programme of works.
  • Carry out the final inspection for certification of final completion and handling over of the works.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the senior Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical inspection, construction, or a related role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • certification in electrical inspection or quality control is an advantage
