Job Description

1. Position Summary

TheElectrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, engineering,coordination and execution of electrical systems for semiconductor, cleanroom,industrial and advanced manufacturing facilities.

The rolewill cover the full project lifecycle, including tender support, conceptdesign, detailed engineering, equipment selection, procurement, installation,testing and commissioning.

The Engineerwill be expected to support both facility electrical infrastructure andproject-specific electrical systems, including power distribution, controlpower, equipment power supply, lighting, grounding, ELV interfaces andintegration with mechanical and process systems.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. ElectricalDesign & Engineering

. Design and review electrical systemsfor cleanroom, semiconductor, industrial and facility projects.

. Develop electrical design conceptsbased on project requirements, equipment loads and applicable standards.

. Perform electrical load calculationsand system sizing.

. Prepare and review:

o Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

o Electrical load schedules

o Cable schedules

o Panel schedules

o Distribution board schedules

o Equipment power requirements

o Cable routing layouts

o Electrical room layouts

o Lighting layouts

o Earthing and bonding layouts

. Coordinate electrical requirementswith mechanical, process and cleanroom systems.

B. PowerDistribution Systems

. Design and review LV electricaldistribution systems.

. Determine electrical loads and powerrequirements for project equipment.

. Size and select:

o Transformers

o Switchboards

o Distribution Boards

o MCCs

o Isolators

o Circuit Breakers

o Cables

o Busducts

o Protection Devices

. Review voltage drop, short-circuitand protection requirements.

. Coordinate new electricalconnections to existing facility systems.

. Assess available electrical capacityand interface requirements where applicable..

C. EquipmentPower Integration

. Develop and review electricalrequirements for:

o AHU / MAU / RCU

o FFU systems

o Exhaust fans

o Pumps

o Scrubbers

o Process equipment

o Utility skids

o Cleanroom equipment

o Control panels

o Instrumentation systems

. Coordinate equipment voltage, phase,frequency, power rating and starting requirements.

. Review motor starting methods,including DOL, Star-Delta, Soft Starter and VFD where applicable.

. Coordinate equipment interlocks andcontrol interfaces.

D. Cleanroom& Semiconductor Electrical Systems

Supportelectrical systems associated with cleanroom and semiconductor facilities,including:

  • Cleanroom equipment power distribution
  • FFU power distribution
  • Equipment utility power
  • Process tool power interfaces
  • Electrical distribution within cleanroom areas
  • Emergency power requirements
  • UPS-supported equipment where applicable
  • Equipment grounding and bonding
  • Electrical penetrations and containment coordination
  • Integration with cleanroom ceiling and service systems.

E. Lighting& Small Power

  • Design and review lighting systems for cleanroom, office, utility and industrial spaces.
  • Perform lighting level calculations where required.
  • Select suitable lighting fixtures based on environmental and cleanroom requirements.
  • Design emergency lighting and exit lighting systems.
  • Review socket outlets and small power distribution requirements.

F. Earthing,Bonding & Lightning Protection

  • Design and review earthing and bonding requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment grounding for mechanical, process and electrical equipment.
  • Review cleanroom and process equipment grounding requirements where applicable.
  • Support lightning protection system coordination where required..

G. Control, BMS & ELV Interface

  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with:
  • BMS / BAS
  • PLC systems
  • SCADA
  • Fire Alarm
  • Emergency Shutdown
  • Equipment Control Panels
  • Instrumentation systems
  • Review control power requirements and interlocks.
  • Support preparation and review of I/O requirements.
  • Review sequence of operation and control interfaces together with Mechanical, Process and Controls teams.

PLCprogramming is not a core requirement unless specifically assigned, but theEngineer should understand basic control and electrical interface requirements.

H. Tender& Proposal Engineering

  • Review RFPs, tender documents, specifications and drawings.
  • Develop preliminary electrical design concepts.
  • Prepare load estimates and equipment power requirements.
  • Identify technical risks, assumptions, exclusions and scope gaps.
  • Raise RFIs and technical clarifications.
  • Prepare technical proposals and compliance submissions.
  • Support cost estimation with equipment schedules, quantities and material take-offs.
  • Participate in tender clarification meetings and client technical discussions..

J. Vendor& Subcontractor Management

  • Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment and subcontract packages.
  • Review vendor and subcontractor technical submissions.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations.
  • Review drawings, datasheets and calculations.
  • Resolve technical deviations and clarifications.
  • Monitor electrical engineering deliverables and submission schedules.
  • Ensure equipment complies with project specifications and applicable standards

K. Site Installation &Construction Support

  • Conduct site surveys and verify existing conditions.
  • Support installation of:
  • Electrical panels
  • Cables
  • Cable trays
  • Busducts
  • Lighting
  • Isolators
  • Earthing systems
  • Equipment power supplies
  • Review shop drawings and method statements.
  • Coordinate electrical works with other trades.
  • Resolve site technical and installation issues.
  • Verify installation against approved drawings and specifications.

L. Testing & Commissioning

Support electrical testing andcommissioning activities including:

  • Insulation resistance testing
  • Continuity testing
  • Earthing resistance testing
  • Circuit verification
  • Panel functional testing
  • Breaker and protection testing
  • Motor rotation and functional checks
  • Equipment energisation
  • Control and interlock testing
  • Emergency power verification
  • System troubleshooting

Reviewtesting reports, commissioning records and handover documentation.

3. Qualifications

The successful candidate shouldpossess:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, industrial, manufacturing or building services projects will be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of LV electrical distribution systems.
  • Able to perform or review electrical engineering calculations.
  • Able to interpret drawings, specifications and equipment datasheets.
  • Familiar with applicable Singapore electrical codes and standards.
