Electrical Engineer to support a major
High-Speed Rail project.
Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, review, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across assigned project activities.
The role requires close coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, clients, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure that electrical works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, safety requirements, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Review contract documents, technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare and review electrical engineering deliverables.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), load calculations, single-line diagrams, and technical submittals.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor electrical installation activities.
- Support troubleshooting activities, technical investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure electrical systems comply with applicable local and international standards and codes.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and relevant KPIs.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and system handover activities.
- Identify technical and project risks related to electrical works and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation.
- Maintain updated records, technical files, and as-built drawings.
- Support procurement activities and the technical and commercial evaluation of electrical materials and equipment.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support timely project delivery.
- Comply with all applicable HSE requirements and actively contribute to a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
- Experience within one or more of the following sectors:
- Railway and rail infrastructure
- Transportation infrastructure
- Major infrastructure projects
- Industrial projects
- Construction projects
- Fluency in English is required.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Professional certifications related to electrical safety, LV/MV systems, or similar technical disciplines are an advantage.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Technical Experience
Candidates should demonstrate a strong technical background in areas such as:
- Power distribution systems
- Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems
- Electrical control panels
- Cable routing systems
- Cable protection systems
- Electrical equipment installation
- Testing and commissioning of electrical equipment
- Electrical technical documentation
- Engineering drawings and specifications
- Site inspection and technical coordination
