Electrical Inspector

Job Description

WSP is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our site supervision team in Abu Dhabi, supporting major transport infrastructure and utilities projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting electrical works, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

The Electrical Inspector will oversee contractor activities related to electrical and utility installations on large-scale transport infrastructure projects. The role requires strong site supervision experience on roads, utilities, street lighting, substations, traffic signals, and associated electrical infrastructure works within the UAE.

• Inspect electrical construction works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Monitor installation of MV/LV systems, substations, transformers, RMUs, feeder pillars, cable networks, street lighting, and traffic signal systems.
• Conduct routine site inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities.
• Review inspection requests, material submissions, test reports, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure contractor compliance with project quality, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
• Verify installed works meet authority standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, contractors, utility providers, and stakeholders regarding inspection activities.
• Identify non-conformances and support resolution of quality issues.
• Prepare inspection records, daily reports, and site observations.
• Support project handover activities and final inspections.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in electrical inspection and site supervision.
• Strong experience on transport infrastructure and utilities projects.
• Extensive UAE experience, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
• Experience with consultant supervision projects.
• Hands-on experience in roads, highways, utilities, street lighting, traffic signals, substations, and electrical distribution networks.
• Knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority requirements and industry standards.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
