We are seeking an experienced Electrical Pre-Sales Engineer to provide technical expertise in support of sales initiatives for UPS systems, Data Center Solutions, Structured Cabling, Inverters, and Battery Systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with sales teams, conduct site surveys, design solutions, and prepare technical proposals to drive deal closures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Pre-Sales Support:
Provide advanced technical support to sales teams and clients via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs) to showcase solutions.
Address client technical inquiries and recommend optimal configurations.
Develop and deliver technical responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, ensuring alignment with client needs.
Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Development teams to refine sales messaging and solution alignment.
Solution Design & Proposal Development:
Conduct site surveys to assess client requirements for UPS, Data Center Infrastructure, Cooling Systems, and Battery Backup Solutions.
Size UPS systems and calculate battery runtime based on client specifications.
Generate Bill of Quantities (BOQs), Bills of Materials (BoMs), and cost estimates tailored to project needs.
Prepare technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and management-level presentations.
Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotes and validate pricing.
Data Center & Infrastructure Planning:
Design data center layouts, including equipment positioning (UPS, PACU, Racks, etc.).
Recommend cooling capacity and power distribution solutions.
Work with contractors and partners to ensure project feasibility and compliance.
Sales & Client Engagement:
Partner with sales teams to scope, plan, and develop customized solutions.
Provide consultation and technical advice to prospective clients.
Assist in negotiations and deal structuring to enhance profitability.
Maintain strong relationships with resellers, partners, and contractors to facilitate project execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience in UPS systems, Data Center Solutions, or related power infrastructure.
Strong expertise in Structured Cabling, Inverters, and Battery Systems.
Proficiency in creating BOQs, technical proposals, and solution designs.
Experience with JDSU Test Equipment (OTDR, Power Meter, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent presentation, communication, and client-facing skills.
Ability to analyze customer requirements and recommend optimal solutions.
Familiarity with RFI/RFP processes and technical documentation.
Preferred Experience:
Previous role as a Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Sales Consultant in UPS/Data Center/Infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of APC by Schneider Electric products is highly desirable.
