JOB PURPOSE
The Project Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and supervising all electrical works on assigned construction projects. The role ensures that electrical installations are delivered in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, safety regulations, and within the agreed timeline and budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution & Site Management
- Lead and supervise all electrical installation activities on project sites.
- Ensure execution of works in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project program.
- Monitor daily site progress and report updates to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors for smooth execution.
- Resolve technical and site execution issues in coordination with consultants and design teams.
Engineering & Technical Support
- Review electrical design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, authority regulations, and international standards.
- Support preparation of technical calculations, load schedules, and system layouts.
- Provide technical input for design modifications and value engineering proposals.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with other MEP disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV systems).
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and local authorities for inspections and approvals.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical and progress updates.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all electrical works comply with QA/QC procedures and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare quality reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure corrective actions for non-conformities.
Material & Resource Management
- Review material requirements and coordinate procurement activities.
- Ensure timely delivery of electrical materials as per project schedule.
- Monitor material usage and reduce wastage on site.
- Assist in manpower planning and allocation of site resources.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Supervise testing, commissioning, and final energization of electrical systems.
- Ensure proper documentation for inspections, approvals, and handover.
- Support preparation of as-built drawings and operation manuals.
- Ensure smooth project close-out and client handover.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 4–8 years of experience in electrical engineering within construction or MEP projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (LV/MV), installations, and site execution.
- Experience in GCC/UAE construction projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with authority standards (DEWA/ADDC/municipality regulations).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
