To prepare accurate and competitive technical and commercial proposals for electrical works by analyzing project requirements, studying drawings and specifications, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company capabilities.
Key AccountabilitiesReview tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements.
Identify project scope, technical requirements, and potential risks.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarifications with consultants/clients.
Prepare detailed cost estimations for electrical systems (LV, ELV, lighting, power, cable routing, earthing, etc.).
Request, compare, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and quantity take-offs (QTO).
Ensure pricing accuracy and compliance with market rates and project requirements.
Develop technical submissions including compliance statements, method statements, project execution plans, and system descriptions.
Ensure proposals comply with international standards (BS, IEC, NFPA, etc.) and local authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, etc.).
Coordinate with internal teams (MEP, procurement, finance, planning) to align proposals with company capabilities.
Communicate with vendors for updated material prices, product data sheets, and technical compliance.
Support cross-functional teams throughout the tender and negotiation stages.
Prepare total project costing, pricing sheets, and supporting documents.
Assist in preparing value engineering (VE) options to improve competitiveness.
Support management during commercial negotiations and clarifications.
Maintain a database of supplier prices, technical data, and historical project costs.
Prepare tender summary reports and handover documentation for awarded projects.
Update management on tender status, deadlines, and strategic opportunities.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
3–7 years of experience as an Electrical Estimation/Proposal Engineer in an MEP contracting firm.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, LV/ELV works, and MEP construction practices.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and estimation software.
Strong understanding of electrical drawings, load schedules, and schematic diagrams.
Experience with local authority requirements (DEWA/ADDC/SEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
Ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs.
