Job Summary
The Electrical QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical works at the construction site comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with site teams to maintain high-quality electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Inspection
- Inspect electrical installations (LV/MV systems, lighting, power, earthing, cable trays, panels, etc.) to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor electrical works at site to ensure adherence to project quality standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify non-conformances; issue NCRs when required.
- Verify materials delivered to site comply with approved submittals and standards.
Testing & Commissioning
- Witness and record electrical testing such as insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, and functional tests.
- Ensure testing instruments are calibrated and approved.
- Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
Documentation & Reporting
- Review and maintain QA/QC documents including ITPs, method statements, checklists, and inspection reports.
- Prepare daily/weekly quality reports and submit them to the QA/QC Manager.
- Maintain records for as-built drawings and handover documentation.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and consultants during inspections.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, BS, or local authority requirements).
- Support audits and inspections by consultants and clients.
Safety & Standards
- Ensure electrical works follow project HSE requirements.
- Promote quality and safety awareness among site staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- 37 years of experience as an Electrical QA/QC Inspector in construction field.
