Role Description The Electrical Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in New Cairo, responsible for managing cost-related aspects of electrical works across assigned projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing bills of quantities (BOQs) for electrical systems, verifying quantities against drawings and specifications, and supporting tendering and contract negotiations. The role involves monitoring electrical project costs, updating cost plans, and preparing regular cost reports to support financial control and decision-making. The Electrical Quantity Surveyor collaborates closely with design, engineering, and site teams to track variations, assess claims, and ensure cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with project standards and timelines. The position also supports value engineering initiatives and contributes to continuous improvement of cost management processes within the electrical discipline.
Qualifications
  • Strong cost management capabilities for electrical works, including Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Planning skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and updating BOQ documents for electrical systems, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in Cost Reporting, including regular project cost updates, variance analyses, and support for budget reviews.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Relevant academic background in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with construction contracts, tender processes, and claims evaluation for MEP or electrical projects.
  • Competence in using industry-standard QS and project management software, as well as MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Previous experience in large-scale building or infrastructure projects, preferably within the regional market, is an advantage.
