Electrical Technical Studies & Integration - Section Head

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Studies & Integration Section Head to lead electrical technical studies and system integration activities across electricity and water distribution networks, with a strong focus on smart metering, automation, and digital utility solutions. The role ensures reliable, compliant, and future-ready utility systems aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the preparation, review, and continuous development of technical specifications and standards for electrical distribution systems and equipment including transformers, RMUs, MV/LV panels, kiosks, cables, and related assets.

2. Manage and oversee all electrical technical studies such as load flow, short circuit, loss evaluation, and network performance studies for substations and distribution systems.

3. Direct site assessments and planning studies for substations and MV networks to ensure optimal technical solutions and efficient network configurations.

4. Ensure system performance analysis is conducted to enhance energy efficiency, reduce losses, and improve overall network reliability.

5. Oversee the review and technical approval of engineering documents, vendor submittals, and technical offers to ensure compliance with project requirements and company standards.

6. Supervise the preparation, review, and validation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) related to electrical works and studies.

7. Lead the digital transformation of electrical networks by implementing modeling, analysis, and visualization tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Excel-based models, and Power BI dashboards.

8. Ensure the conversion of traditional network data into accurate digital models to support analysis, planning, and decision-making.

9. Drive initiatives for smart meters, monitoring systems, and advanced network visibility to enhance operational reliability and real-time performance tracking.

10. Provide technical support and expert advice to Operation and Maintenance teams to resolve network issues and improve system performance.

11. Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper integration of technical studies with design, projects, procurement, and operational activities.

12. Prepare and issue technical reports, studies, and recommendations for management review and decision-making.

13. Identify technical risks and propose mitigation plans related to network performance, system integration, and future expansions.

14. Ensure full compliance with local regulations, international standards, and internal policies across all section activities.

15. Lead, coach, and develop section staff, ensuring effective resource utilization, performance management, and knowledge transfer.

16. Promote continuous improvement in methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality of outputs.

17. Develop section KPIs and monitor performance against targets.

18- Support management in long-term network expansion and asset management strategies.

19- Participate in technical evaluation committees and tender assessments.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

Minimum 810 years of experience in electrical distribution systems

Strong background in network studies, substations, MV/LV systems, and utility projects.

Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing complex studies.

• Master's degree in Power Systems Analysis is preferred.

Technical Skills

Expertise in electrical network analysis and planning tools (ETAP or similar).

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and engineering documentation.

Advanced data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI or equivalent).

Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Experience with utility regulatory authorities is an advantage.
